Web Developer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Web Developer to join our successful and expanding team at RealVNC.
RealVNC is a highly successful software company based in Cambridge (UK) city center. As the original developers of VNC remote-access technology our software is used by hundreds of millions of users worldwide from the non-technical home user to IT professionals from global companies, such as Intel, IBM, and Philips. We have immediate, significant expansion plans and are looking for an experienced, talented Web Developer to join our Information Applications team.
Part of a close-knit group, you will be working on both internal and external sites, including e-commerce, sales lead management and providing a consistent user experience to tens of millions of website visitors. Your work will help RealVNC maintain its significant growth and you will have the opportunity to contribute fully to an already successful organization with a globally recognized brand. The successful candidate must possess demonstrable programming and problem solving skills, as well as being able to manage multiple tasks and take responsibility for their successful completion.
Your skills and experience must include
- Web application development with strong HTML/CSS skills
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Perl or PHP
- Knowledge of SQL essential, PostgreSQL or MySQL experience useful
- Knowledge of JavaScript essential, jQuery experience useful
- Working within a Linux environment
- Strong problem solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience of any of the following is desirable
- Systematic website testing procedures
- Revision Control Systems
- Linux systems administration
- Website design skills
- Experience of design for mobile sites
