can't get vnc to work, with lynksys router

Since William has given some good explanation I will write my config on
Linksys BEFVP41 (it is similar to BEFSR41 which I have and used at another
location)
All I need to connect to the VNCserver is done in just a couple of steps.
Static IP given to the VNC server below 100 as the dhcp starts from 100 and
onwards.
Portforwarding 5900~5900 to 192.168.1.11
Portforwarding 5800~5800 to 192.168.1.11 (to get the VNCserver through a
browser)
MTU is enabled and set at 1492 (to solve the grey screen, initial loading
pages hangup)
This is it. Hope this helps.
David
