Introduction

VNC Personal Edition 4.5 contains powerful new features such as remote printing and improved ones such as VNC Chat. In addition, it is faster, more robust, and benefits from new documentation.

If you haven't done so already, you probably want to download the latest version and read the release notes.

If you have never used VNC Personal Edition before, start with the general VNC documentation.

The following documentation is available for VNC Personal Edition. Note that a host computer is the computer to be controlled, running VNC Server, and a client computer is a computer to connect from, running VNC Viewer.

Note that the User Guide is written for VNC Enterprise Edition, but that the information it contains applies to VNC Personal Edition with the exception of sections on platform-native authentication.
